Solutions for Chronic Fatigue

Chronic fatigue is concerned a “waste basket” diagnosis. This means if a doctor thinks they have ruled out all normal reasons for fatigue, and can’t figure out the reason, this is the label you get. The definition of chronic fatigue is the “absence of other causes of chronic fatigue.” The guidelines then go on to talk about that there is no cure for chronic fatigue syndrome. The only goal of treatment is to merely relieve symptoms. Many people with chronic fatigue go on to become depressed, not because of the condition, but because they are offered no help. They are “defined” as likely having psychological disorders as well. Patients are essentially told there is nothing that can be done, and then are often offered a script for anti-depressant drugs, and nothing else.
Fortunately, this is not the only answer. There are many things that can be done for chronic fatigue. Chronic fatigue is most likely not caused by one thing, but a combination of many things going on in the body at once. An integrative approach that looks at all systems working together is uniquely poised to unlock the mystery of chronic fatigue. Chronic fatigue may be caused by infection, adrenal fatigue, weak thyroid function, poor diet, and nutritional deficiency. A system that puts all these pieces together is successful in its treatment in chronic fatigue syndrome. A diagnosis of chronic fatigue should not mean a future with no hope.
