NAD+ and NMN: How You Can Start an Anti-aging Protocol Now- Rethink My Health Podcast Episode 11

Welcome to episode 11 of Rethink my Health podcast where we discuss healthcare topics that matter the most. We get to the root cause and empower you, the listener, to take charge of your health. On today’s episode of Rethink my health, Dr. Gez Agolli and Dr. Cheryl Burdette will be talking NMN and Anti-Aging. What is NMN? NMN is a precursor to something called NAD+. NAD+ is a compound that your body created in the cell and is used in energy production. In other words, NAD+ is crucial for the basic functionality of the cell. We all recall from high school biology that mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell. Well, the Mitochondria rely on the presence of NAD+ to function. What happens to NAD+ as we age? Current research shows that by middle age, NAD+ production has fallen to almost half of what your cells can make in your youth. This has a particularly heightened effect on cells that require increased levels of energy production such as brain cells and cells found in your cardiovascular system. Current research in anti-aging focuses on pathways to increase the production of NAD+.NMN has been shown to effectively boost levels of NAD+ at the cellular level making this an exciting area of focus in the study of anti-aging medicine. Listen to Dr. Agolli and Dr. Burdette talk about NMN, NAD+, and what you should be doing for anti-aging.
