Listen to tonight’s show to find out why clinicians are joining the integrative medicine paradigm shift in medicine.Tonight we will hear from Dr. Margaret Christensen, who is a board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist, who received her undergraduate degree from Rice University in Houston Texas, graduating Cum Laude with degrees in Biology and Psychology. She subsequently received her M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, graduating with High Honors. She has received her board certification as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and was recertified in 2003.After completing her four year residency in Ob-Gyn in Dallas, she opened her first practice, Renaissance Women’s Health Associates at Baylor University Medical Center. In that practice for almost 10 years, she provided progressive gynecologic, obstetric and family centered care, being the first physician in Dallas to use nurse midwives at a private hospital.In 2001, she was called by Spirit to close her traditional practice and take a 2 year sabbatical for research, transformative growth and profound personal healing.By integrating and applying her findings on creating health into her own life, she now helps inspire her clients to do the same. In her new practice, The Christensen Center for Whole Life Health, she combines the latest scientific research, together with healing wisdom and teachings from many traditions.
Currently she is serving on the international faculty of the Institute for Functional Medicine, centered in Gig Harbor, Washington, helping to educate other physicians on an integrative, functional approach to healthcare.A popular lecturer and speaker both locally and nationally, she holds regular seminars on Detoxification and Hormonal Balancing, Mother-Daughter Coming of Age workshops, Sacred Sexuality, and life-transforming retreats on Creating Health from the Inside Out. In addition, she has lectured at SMU in the departments of medical anthropology, and Perkins School of Theology, passionately combining her interests in anthropology, cross cultural healing, quantum physics and spirituality.
