The Story Behind the Practice

From Loss to Mission

When Dr. Agolli's father was diagnosed with cancer at 46, he was gone within six months. That loss changed the trajectory of his life, personally and professionally. An Air Force veteran who served on the Special Operations 1721st Combat Control Team, the "Red Berets," he was sent searching by his father's death for better answers than conventional medicine had been able to provide. He found them in natural, naturopathic, functional, and complementary care, what is now called integrative medicine.

Over the three decades since, he has built Progressive Medical Center into a multidisciplinary team of physicians, naturopaths, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, registered dietitians, nutritionists, health and wellness coaches, and specialists who work together under one roof.

Dr. Agolli has been a visionary for integrative medicine since long before it went mainstream. When the field was still called "alternative" or "holistic," he was already building a model of care where physicians, naturopaths, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, and nutritionists collaborate on every patient's treatment.

Outside the practice, Dr. Agolli has been married to his wife Donna for more than 37 years, and is a father and grandfather. He has also hosted medically compromised children through ChildSpring International, a nonprofit that connects children from developing countries with life-changing medical care in the United States. He is a fitness enthusiast, passionate about healthy living, traveling to new countries, and learning about new cultures.

In functional integrative medicine, we think out of the box. In fact, there is no box.

Media & Thought Leadership

Dr. Agolli has hosted the Progressive Medical Hour of Power! radio show, and today leads the Rethink My Health podcast, covering current medical topics through an integrative and functional medicine lens. His appearance on the Josh Axe podcast drew patients to PMC from across the United States and as far as Saudi Arabia.

He is the author of "Why Healthcare is Not Working in America" (his doctoral thesis in Public Health) and "Minerals... The Spark Plugs of Life" (his doctoral thesis in Nutrition). He has also coached and trained hundreds of other practitioners in integrative clinical methods.

He is also an ordained minister through the National Association of Christian Ministers, reflecting his belief that true healing involves alignment of physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

How It Works

How Dr. Agolli Shapes Your Care

Every patient at PMC benefits from the system Dr. Agolli envisioned three decades ago. The multidisciplinary model means your care isn't limited to one doctor's expertise. Led by your licensed physician, your nurse practitioner, naturopath, nutritionist, health coach, and diagnostics team all share your case and coordinate your treatment in the same facility. Several medical minds working in concert are better than one.

The therapies available to you (EBOO, IV therapy, hyperbaric oxygen, Weber Endolaser, peptide therapy, and more) are here because Dr. Agolli identified them, tested them, and built the infrastructure to deliver them safely and effectively.

When you call PMC, a care coordinator matches you with the right provider based on your health needs. You don't need to choose a doctor before your first call.
